The Best Workplaces Programme has been brought to Scotland to support Skills Development Scotland and SCDI in their strategic objective to improve employee skills in Scotland and so boost national productivity and competitiveness. Skills Development Scotland supports employers by helping build a strong and competitive workforce through learning and development. The Programme culminates in Scotland's Best Workplaces Special Report which is published by The Herald.Research report
The partnership is part of a 3-year strategic initative which as well as the Best Workplaces Programme will also result in a unique research report which highlights Scotland's strenghts as workplace, and how it compares with 18 European countries..jpg)
Skills Development Scotland
Created in 2008, Skills Development Scotland (SDS) is a non-departmental public body (NDPB) that brought together the careers, skills, training and funding services of Careers Scotland, the Scottish University for Industry (Learn Direct Scotland) and the Skills Intervention arms of Scottish Enterprise and Highlands & Islands Enterprise. SDS employs 1,400 staff and has a network of public access centres and offices across Scotland.

Alliance of Sector Skills Councils, Scotland
The Alliance of Sector Skills Councils in Scotland (Alliance Scotland) is tasked with representing, promoting and supporting the work of the Sector Skills Councils (SSCs) in Scotland. Together, SSCs articulate the voice of the employers of 90% of the UK’s workforce on skills issues and they are key partners in the delivery of a world class skills base for Scotland. The Alliance Scotland’s core purpose is to act as the collective voice of the SSCs, promote understanding of the role of SSCs within the skills system across Scotland, coordinate policy positions and strategic work on skills with stakeholders, and help build the performance capability of the SSCs to ensure they continue to work effectively on the employer-driven skills agenda.

Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations
The SCVO is the national body for Scotland’s charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises. SCVO works in partnership with the voluntary sector to advance our shared values and interests.
